Watching Sportscenter just now. What a bunch of babies, even Bree's. Out of the five or six interviews they showed they all cried like babies about the no pass interference call. Only one of the guys man'd up and said it sucks but that stuff happens.
I get that it should have been pass interference and it was at a huge moment in the game and it would have sealed it up for the Saints. But..
- in real time it looks like he got popped but it was tough to tell on the initial angle how early it was, it was a weird looking play as the coverage was right there, had the defender turned he could have picked it. Now when they started showing replays it looked super super obvious. I'm sure the officials could see it on the big screen thinking , oh shit we messed that one up big time.
- in real time at first sight it was possible to think he hit him just as the ball was arriving, something about the angle just looked wierd. I've seen much more obvious PI calls not called then that one.
All that being said. It wasn't like it was 4th down for the Saints and they were down 5 points and that call cost them the game. They were still able to kick a FG.
* their defense could have stopped them and they would have won the game!
* they won the coin toss in OT ! They drive down and get a TD they win the game!
Bad call hurt them for sure but they had plenty of chance to win after that. Sometimes a call really does end the game for a team. Lost some respect for Bree's and crew today.
